Tybee
Turtle Tour Mary Ingalls and Rebecca Rice started the Tybee
Turtle Tour in 2005. This public art event featured larger than life loggerhead
turtles scattered around Tybee. In 2008 most were auctioned off to benefit their
live brothers, some still remain around the island. Mary created two turtles for
this event. One is still on public display at the Tybee Island Guard House.

The
President of Shir Shalom contacted me after he had seen my stained glass artwork
at Gallery 209 on River Street in Savannah. Bob and Muriel Steinberg were attracted
to my style and use of color. As co-presidents of a synagogue in Woodstock, Vermont,
they dreamed of stained glass windows in their new post and beam barn that completed
their renovation of an old New England farmhouse into a synagogue. For me, it
was a wonderful privilege to be able to have my work in a place of worship, especially
in New England, the home of my youth.. . Design by Denise Elliot-Vernon.
The
Triptyk was installed for the dedication ceremony of the new building July 11,
2003.
